This is a nice little project to practice edges with double knitting
Level ●●●○○ (3 of 5)
How to work the knitwear: The Feather Hood is knitted from a luxurious alpaca-silk blend, using multiple strands of yarn together. The unique feature of the hood is that most of it is knitted with three strands, while the edge around the face is worked with a double-knit using two strands, so a ribbon can fit inside without making the edge too thick. The neckline is finished with a double-knit using a single strand, ensuring the edge doesn’t curl in use and remains the same thickness as the rest of the hood. The work begins at the bottom, and the hood is worked in the round from neck to the chin. The hood section is worked flat, and the crown is shaped similarly to a sock heel.
