Asymmetrical showstopper cable jumper

Level ●●●●● (5 of 5)

How to work the knitwear: Crèmelle is a show-stopping sweater for knitters who enjoy staying fully engaged — there’s no chance of getting bored, as each new row brings something to look forward to. The voluminous cables shift asymmetrically between the front and back, evoking decorative cream frosting, while the sleeves offer a brief pause with a single cable pattern — though they, too, remain playfully mismatched. Keep your cable needle close at hand; it will be a constant companion throughout the project.

The white version is knitted from thin lace-weight alpaca combined with silk mohair, which makes the garment unusually light. The black turtleneck version is one size smaller and feels more luxurious, like haute couture. Made from fine cashmere and silk mohair, the bold cables don’t get lost in the black fabric—it’s the colour choice that makes the sweater striking and enhances the silhouette of the lucky wearer. Je l’adore!

The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. First, cast on stitches for the back neck and work them flat to the underarm. Then, pick up the stitches for both fronts, join them, and work the front in the same way as the back. Join the work in the round and work to the hem. Next, work the sleeves. Finally, work the collar as desired.

Size guide

The sweater is designed to be worn with approximately 0–5 cm / 0–2” of negative ease or 0–10 cm / 0–4” of positive ease at the bust. This means the sweater can be slightly tighter than your bust measurement or up to about ten centimetres looser — depending on which style you prefer. First measure your bust circumference (or the widest part of your upper body). Compare this measurement to the finished measurements (below) and choose the closest matching size. You can also measure your favourite knit garment — the right size depends on whether you want the sweater to be fitted or relaxed.
